Fish Out of Water - Episodes 1-3

Our three-part film series brings you into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with three Minnesota chefs to showcase the beauty of this fishing and hunting destination threatened by Twin Metals and other companies’ proposed sulfide-ore copper mines.

In October, Boundary Waters novices, Lachelle Cunningham of Breaking Bread Café and Amanda Cowette of Wise Acre Eatery, joined experienced sportsman Lukas Leaf, executive chef at Al Vento, for an expedition into the wilderness to fish and cook. The three were led by Dave Seaton of Hungry Jack Outfitters.

Fish Out of Water won the "Spirit of Film" award at the Frozen Film Festival on February 7, 2016. The film is an official selection for the Oneota Film Festival in March.
